Our initiative is aimed at women currently living in poverty and without resources or information. Subsection 2 of the Charter 2 does not preclude any activity which has as its object the amelioration of the conditions of those who are disadvantaged.
-
We aim to reflect the values of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms particularly by helping women who are disadvantaged in many ways to participate more fully in the economic and social life of Canadian society.
-
The mandate of Womanspace has always been to work from a standpoint of respect for the individual woman regardless of race, sex, ethnic origin, religion, age or any of the other areas of discrimination prohibited by the Charter of Rights and Freedoms; and the pursuit of economic, social and political equality for all women.
-
Womanspace provides resources, referrals and education to the community and to individual women. Womanspace also advocates for, and conducts conduct research on women's issues, supports policy development in areas of interest to women.
-
We work with all community members from the Lethbridge area to increase awareness of women’s issues, to promote social, political and economic equality of women to encourage the development of women’s spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being.
